If the words “crepey skin” conjure an image of an elephant with all-over wrinkles, you’re not alone. However, if an image of your own crepey neck comes to mind, it may be time to do something about those not-so-smooth lines and creases.
Our own Shelly Botsford, NP, and the rest of our highly skilled medical aesthetics team at Pure Skin Aesthetic & Laser Center offer a nonsurgical approach to crepey, loose neck skin. With the SkinTyte™ infrared light therapy system, you can revive your crepey neck for a younger-looking appearance without downtime.
The elephants many not be able to do anything about their dry, wrinkly skin, but you can. They have wrinkles for a reason – to help keep them stay cooler on the hot African savanna. You have wrinkles as a result of aging.
As you get older, your body produces less collagen and elastin, the proteins that allow your skin to stretch and contract. Coupled with moisture loss – yet another benefit of aging – this decrease in proteins means your skin is less supple. Add a third layer to the crepey skin culprits – fat loss – and you’ve got (dare we say it again?) skin that looks like that of our favorite descendants of the woolly mammoth.
Even if you’ve tried creams and lotions that promise to deliver anti-aging results, we’re willing to bet your sagging, crepey neck skin didn’t miraculously get firmer or smoother after repeated use. So, what’s next? Expensive face-lift surgery with extensive downtime and recovery?
No -- because thankfully, surgery isn’t your only option.
The SkinTyte broadband light (BBL™) system uses an advanced infrared light technology to gently, but deeply, heat the layers of tissue beneath the surface of your skin with short, rapid pulses of energy. The infrared energy heats the tissue to a desired, controlled temperature which stimulates new collagen production, and initiates your body’s natural healing response. The result is firmer skin and fewer visible wrinkles.
SkinTyte is versatile, too, and we customize your treatment to your specific needs. The handpiece comes with different sizes of adapters, so we can cover a larger area of your neck and jowls in a shorter amount of time than some other types of laser treatments or skin rejuvenation procedures.
For your comfort during the treatment, the SkinTyte system has a built-in cooling device to keep the surface of your skin comfortable. So unlike surgery, SkinTyte is relatively painless, and there’s no downtime.
We’re so glad you asked. Our June Special at Pure Skin Aesthetic & Laser Center is the BBL SkinTyte treatment. We’re offering our clients a series of six SkinTyte treatments for $1250. This makes a great gift for any man or woman who wants to improve the appearance of sagging neck skin over the course of a few months.
You may notice a visible improvement in your skin’s firmness after the first treatment, but for optimal, long-lasting results, we recommend 4-6 treatment sessions. When you come in for a consultation, we examine your skin, talk about your particular goals, and map out an individual treatment plan to help you achieve them.
Since crepey skin is better left to serve its purpose for the elephants, there’s no need to keep yours any longer. Give us a call to schedule an appointment to take the first step in this nonsurgical, skin-firming treatment that delivers a more youthful appearance.
