If you’re like most, your lunch break is a time to wolf down some food and run some errands before you head back to work. In fact, lunch breaks are rarely breaks at all. Now imagine using that time to erase years from your face, allowing you to return looking like you stumbled upon the fountain of youth.
Thanks to cosmetic injectables, this scenario is entirely within your reach. Here at Pure Skin Aesthetic & Laser Center, our expert team is able to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and add volume to sagging skin in just minutes with Botox® and dermal fillers.
To discover what many of our patients in Bismarck, North Dakota, already know, here’s how we can banish aging skin in the same time it takes for you to go the deli and dry cleaner.
Botox is arguably the grandfather of cosmetic injectables, having been approved by the FDA to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better in adults.
Every time you squint, smile, or furrow your brow, your muscles contract, and over time these contractions create well-worn lines in your skin, especially as you age and your skin loses elasticity.
Botox goes straight to the source of these lines by temporarily paralyzing the muscles, disabling them from contorting your skin.
Botox injections can tackle the deep forehead and brow lines that often make you look angry or tired. As well, while those laugh lines were cute when you were 30, as you age they grow a little deeper and add age to your smiling eyes. Botox works to relax these muscles and the lines around your eyes, making your eyes the focus of attention again.
When you come in, we sit down with you to discuss the number of injections you need to meet your goals. The good news is that we can administer them all at the same time, though you may want to start conservatively to measure the results first. Most of our patients see results within 24-48 hours after their treatment.
Botox injections generally last up to four months, so plan on “having lunch” with us three or four times a year.
While Botox does a great job tackling the signs of aging on the upper half of your face, your lower half may benefit from some anti-aging efforts in the form of dermal fillers.
By and large, your lower face falls prey to a different symptom of aging, which is the loss of fat under your skin. As your skin loses elasticity and tone, your fat tends to succumb to gravity, leaving sagging skin behind.
With dermal fillers, we can fill in the deep parentheses lines that run from your nose down around either side of your mouth. We can also use fillers to add more volume to your cheeks, and plump up thinning lips while erasing those vertical lines that surround them.
And to prevent your hands from giving away your age, we can use fillers to add more youthful volume to them, as well.
To accomplish all of this, we use a number of different fillers, including:
These fillers last anywhere from one to two years, after which time you come back for a refill, as it were.
So next time you pick up the phone at your desk to call for takeout, consider giving us a call to schedule an appointment instead.
